My Camp Experience

 A few weeks ago rm 8 and rm 7 went on a camp in Whangaruru Harbour called The Farm. It was so much fun and a week I will never forget. Hope you like the slide I made about everything we did at camp.

Movie

WALT: make movies, me and my class had a lesson about skills and tricks about making movies. Then two groups made a movie to submit to the Maniakalani film festival. In my group there was Caylee, Bradley, Louie, Stevie, Tiaawai and myself.

The first thing we did is write the script. Me and Caylee did that. then we had to pick who would act as each character.  we spent quite a long time on this because we wanted everyone to have a part. Then we started to film. this took the most time and took around two weeks. then we exported our videos too imovie and started editing. Stevie and Bradley helped me with that. then we sent our video to the judges and went to see it be played at Te Ahu cinema.

Wacky Animal Literacy Project

Wacky Animal Literacy Project

LI: to merge two animals together to create a new wacky animal that is represented
by the combined characteristics of both the individual animals.

How did I do it?

Find out information about both my animals then mix it together 

Reflection:
I think I did OK because I think if I spent more time on it I would of done much better.

NZ History Animations

LI: to present an animation that shows our new learning about the different
perspectives of Māori and Europeans first encounters 250 years ago.

How did I do it?

First i got images for the web of captain cook,Tupaia and everything else. then went to remove.bg and took away the background so i could use it like a png. then to make the animation i got a slide then duplicated it change it slightly and did it again that way it looks like there moving/walking

Reflection:

i think i did well with this animation it took a long time but it was worth it. I think i should of used maori dictionary not google translator because some of the maori might be translated wrong.

Movie Reviews- Point England School

WALT: Whaea Donna taught us how to make a movie review so we watched two movies from Point England school page and wrote a review on them.
I found reviewing the lighting, camera shots and angles really hard to write about since I didn't know much about them. but watching their movies was really fun and gave me a lot of ideas that I could do when making movies in the future.
Have you ever made a movie? do you have any advice for me?

Science Fair

Last week our School had our Science Fair. I loved doing it. It was really fun to present our project. I found it hard to complete all the things we needed to do for it in such short notice. But it was worth it in the end. We did our Science project on liquid density and how it works. we presented two experiments. the first one was us layering different liquids if you haven't heard of it look at the link it will tell you more.
The second experiment was us pouring food colouring in milk then adding dish soup. it makes a chemical reaction. which is really cool to watch! if you want to see it click the link above.

My Tiny house Project

WALT: To design and measure accurately to create our tiny house.

We made it using cardboard for the base and room and paper for everything else. in my house there is a bathroom bedroom and kitchen. and outside i have a pathway and fishpond 🐟

I enjoyed drawing and colouring in my house i found it really fun too match colours make designs and find out where everything fitted nicely.
I found making the furniture really hard because it was super frigidity and took so long!
Next time i would make more furniture so my house looked more full

WALT: Create a pathway for our Future

Whaea Sue gave us a google slide template to write in so that we could think about our Goals, Aspirations, dreams and skills

I enjoyed decorating the slide at the end and making it look really nice. i also liked the writing because it was all things the i found fun to write about.

Next time I would write a bit more. So it would fill up the slide completely.

Hello my name is Faye,

I was born in Canada but moved to New Zealand a few years ago. I live with my mum,dad sister liv and my brother Teo. i go to Kaitaia intermediate school and used to go to Paparore Primary school.  

I love to go horse riding, surfing, skiing and skateboarding. I love art and  reading and writing but don't really enjoy doing maths. I think i am good at art reading and writing. I definitely need more help in maths. This year i would like to get better at it and know all my basic facts off by heart.  

I can not wait for Camp this year. And i'm super happy that i will be able to go with one of my best friends Caylee. And i am also very happy to get back on my blog and start posting again. I love writing and posting on my blog so i can not wait to do it again this year!
